About
Cardගොඩ started as a personal problem. Six credit cards across six Sri Lankan banks, six statements arriving at six different times in six different layouts, and a spreadsheet that had grown well past the point anyone else could pick it up. Every month the same numbers were typed in again by hand: the instalments, the subscriptions, the balances.
The information was already sitting in the statements. What was missing was something that would read them, check its own arithmetic, and answer the only question that actually matters at the end of the month — after everything already committed, how much is genuinely left.
A desktop application for Windows and macOS, built for Sri Lankan credit cards specifically. Not a budgeting app with Sri Lanka bolted on: the bank list, the statement layouts, the rupee formatting and the card reference table are all built around what banks here actually issue.
It is not a bank connection, and it never asks for a banking password. It does not give financial advice. It is not a service with an account and a server holding your data — there is no server, which is the whole reason there is nothing to breach. The privacy policy spells that out, including the two cases where something does leave your computer.
One developer in Sri Lanka, currently. That is worth saying plainly because it sets expectations: replies come from a person and not a support desk, and the app is not yet code signed because certificates cost money the beta has not made.
It also means feedback lands directly with the person who can act on it. The report button inside the app goes straight to the same place the code is written.
Cardගොඩ is in open beta and free while it is there. It will eventually carry a price, and everyone using it during the beta keeps a permanent founder discount — recorded automatically, nothing to claim. What is being worked on next is decided largely by what people report.
Using it and something is wrong, missing, or confusing? Say so. During a beta that is the most useful thing anyone can do.
